Article VII: Code of Conduct

The code of conduct establishes the expected behavior and standards for all members of the Optio Blockchain community.

Respect:

All community members are expected to treat each other with respect. This includes being courteous, listening to others’ perspectives, and engaging in constructive and respectful dialogue.

Integrity:

Members are expected to act honestly and ethically in all their interactions and contributions, maintaining the highest standards of conduct.

Collaboration:

The community encourages sharing ideas. Members should work together, support each other, and contribute to the collective success of the Optio Blockchain.

Inclusivity:

All members, regardless of background, experience, or perspective, should feel welcome and valued. Discrimination, harassment, or exclusionary behavior is not tolerated.

Accountability:

Community members are accountable for their actions and behavior. If conflicts or issues arise, members are expected to take responsibility and engage in the resolution process constructively.

Responsibility:

Members should adhere to the principles and guidelines established by the Optio Blockchain, including this constitution and other governing documents. Compliance with these standards ensures the community functions smoothly.

Addressing Violations:

Violations of the code of conduct are taken seriously. The Council of Ordinals is responsible for investigating reported violations and taking appropriate action, which may include mediation, sanctions, or referral to an arbitration panel.

The process for addressing violations is transparent and fair, ensuring that all parties are heard and that decisions are based on evidence and due process.

Role of Legal Representation in Addressing Violations:

In cases of severe violations requiring potential removal of a member or Ordinal, legal representation will:

  • Review the findings of the Council of Ordinals or Risk Committee.
  • Confirm adherence to due process and procedural fairness.
  • Provide a written recommendation to the Council of Ordinals and the DAO regarding the proposed disciplinary action.
  • Assist in drafting any final resolutions or notices regarding the removal.
